Are the rats on the sinking Ship of State beginning to gnaw each other’s entrails?

Hag hears all sorts of terrible rumours ...  not from without, but from within the Tent of State. Not from the Libs. But the Labs. Or is it LibLabs anyway when the chips are down.

Hag will not dignify the rumours by revealing any details. Suffice to say, this will be one great big dirty election campaign. (Well it already is: Insults fly as Bartlett gets dirty. And don’t forget the admirable Doug Parkinson’s adroit move to sue his own side: Now Labor sues itself)

I’m assured by the Editor that Tasmanian Times will not publish a single jot of these nasty character assassinations, unless of course there is specific public interest. Very admirable and appropriate, Editor.

However, the simple fact of the steady trickle of dirt to me (and TT) indicates that Labor and the Great Leader are severely on the nose.

It would appear to confirm gleeful Libs’ Focus Group polling that it is The Great Leader himself, the Hon David Bartlett MP - cruelly called the Thinking Man’s Bollard by a drinking companion the other night - who is the most unpopular.

Why then the Presidential Style campaign focused on the Leader when the Leader is already lampooned as the Backflip Backdoor Barty; Line In The Sand firmly washed away?

Perhaps it’s time for Barty to take a night off and memorise Percy Byshe Shelley’s immortal….
