The public hearing into a canal housing estate proposal near Hobart has been told the project would ruin the state’s best wind-surfing spot. Windsurfer Anthony Houston said the state’s 300 wind and kite surfers were opposed to the development because they fear it would kill the sport. Mr Houston told the Resource Planning and Development Commission that Ralphs Bay was considered the best bay to surf because it was windy, shallow and close to Hobart. Read more here
